Pepsi Center, home of the Denver Nuggets, is adjacent to this neighborhood. The neighborhood of Ballpark features Coors Field at the south end and eclectic Larimer Street with its pubs, antique shops, coffeehouses, boutiques, cafes and small businesses, and Larimer Square with buildings dating to the Civil War. Larimer Square features entertainment, restaurants and shops. There are hundreds of acres of parkland in the 13 downtown neighborhoods. Confluence Park in Central Platte Valley neighborhood is located on the South Platte River and offers kayaking. City Park is adjacent to Uptown and Whittier neighborhoods and is the home of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Denver Zoo. Schools in the neighborhoods are part of Denver Public Schools and downtown Denver residents have easy access to the Auraria Higher Education Center.
